PUREGRAINAUDIO.COM ALBUM REVIEW AND FREE DOWNLOAD
We were featured in PUREGRAINAUDIO.COM's New Audio section where they reviewed our album GLACIERS and are providing a free download of 'ANALYSIS PARALYSIS'.

If you're wondering if Hammerhands is the right band for you, they claim to be "intended for fans" of Neurosis, The Melvins, Pelican, Swans, Boris, Isis, Sleep, Godflesh, Envy,' and Sunn O. The doom metal group features ex-members of The Love and Terror Cult and Dance Electric and in their music, Hammerhands takes the aggressive temperament of their contemporaries and presents it in a poetically charged arrangement that is both haunting and engaging. With such a layered atmosphere, it really translates well to their live show which is jarring and peculiar, not to mention hypnotic and apocalyptic.
Hammerhands' debut album is an unforgiving epic, aptly titled Glaciers. The album explores the coldness of the human condition in a matter-of-fact kind of way. The record contains long droning parts with slowed down crushing riffs, amongst eerie death-march drum beats. Glaciers is a definite must of fans of drudging, sludging kind of heavy metal. Judging by their debut, Hammerhands is definitely a band going somewhere."

PELICANUS REVIEW OF PIRANHA BAR SET, MONTREAL, FEB21/13

"L'Ontario était désormais à l'honneur avec deux groupes surprenants. Le premier à prendre place à la suite d'une attente ridiculement longue fut Hammerhands. Les balances de son n'en finissaient plus et l'heure se faisait déjà tardive. Heureusement, les quatre musiciens réussirent à atteindre la lourdeur escomptée après une pause de près de 45 minutes. Je n'en croyais pas mes yeux, ou plutôt mes oreilles, il était étonnant de ressentir une telle puissance sonore dans un endroit comme le Piranha Bar. Le technicien sonore semblait furieux de l'excès de décibels du groupe canadien. Je n'étais certainement pas celui qui allait en rajouter, j'adore la musique lorsqu'elle est exploitée à ses limites et Hammerhands a su nous mettre K-O. Les terribles riffs défonçaient nos crânes et le chanteur asiatique était étonnement puissant. Malgré sa mince silhouette, il me faisait penser à un maître de Kung-Fu qui maîtrise à merveille son art. Ses cris perturbateurs et ses rythmiques agressives donnaient le ton à cette musique massive. Un doom furieux nous était offert par Hammerhands, un grand professionnalisme et une vaste expérience se dégageaient des musiciens. Parions que vous en entendrez parler à nouveau et que leur première apparition à Montréal sera le commencement d'une série de plusieurs excursions mémorables."
